Riverhill Rock Garden II
50.8 x 40.6 cm
The Rock Garden at Riverhill Himalayan Gardens was first created over 100 years ago but sadly fell into decline in the 1960s. When Ed and I took over the gardens in 2010, it was completely ‘lost’ and overgrown. We set about clearing and restoring it in 2018 and then replanting with hundreds of different species of fern. The result is a magical, shaded wilderness with a cascade of water into a reflective pool. I hope that I have captured this ethereal feel in these two oil pastels.
